Corinna Hawkes leads the IFPRI research program on diet quality and diet change. Her research interests lie in developing policies to address the global shift towards unhealthy diets, overweight/obesity, and diet-related chronic diseases. At IFPRI, she also works more broadly on the linkages between health and agriculture. Prior to joining IFPRI in 2004, she worked and consulted for the World Health Organization to support the development of the WHO's Global Strategy on Diet, Physical Activity and Health. She also worked on community food security issues in the United States. A citizen of the UK, Corinna has a PhD in environmental geography from King's College, University of London (1998) and a BA in geography from the University of Bristol (1993). She is also an honorary research fellow in the Department of Health Management and Food Policy at City University, London UK
