Claudia Ringler, a citizen of Germany, joined IFPRI in 1996. Her research interests are water resources management--in particular, river basin management--and agricultural and natural resource policies for developing countries. Moreover, she is undertaking work on adaptation to climate change and enhanced rural water quality management. Claudia co-leads IFPRI’s water research group and also leads Theme 5 on the Global and National Food and Water System of the Challenge Program on Water and Food. Claudia received a B.A. in business management (ESB) from Germany and Spain, an M.A. in international and development economics from Yale University, and a Ph.D. in agricultural economics from Bonn University.
