Senior Communications Specialist, HarvestPlus Senior Research Fellow, IFPRI Research Fellow, IFPRI Bonnie McClafferty
Bonnie McClafferty coordinates communications for HarvestPlus, an international, interdisciplinary research program that breeds crops for better nutrition. Her work includes overseeing public relations and managing overall research output for the program. She joined the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) in 1996 as a communications specialist on food consumption and nutrition. Bonnie holds a B.S. in agronomy from Cornell University and an M.A. degree in public policy and administration from the University of Virginia. She is a citizen of the United States. Agnes Quisumbing
Agnes Quisumbing co-leads a research program analyzing the factors that enable individuals, households, and communities to move out of poverty over the long term. Her research interests include poverty, gender, property rights, and economic mobility. She has led intra-household studies in Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Guatemala, and South Africa, and has worked on women's land rights in Ghana, the Philippines, and Sumatra. Agnes holds a Ph.D. in economics from the University of the Philippines, Quezon City. She is a citizen of the Philippines. Lisa Smith
Lisa Smith is project leader for "Improving the Empirical Basis for Assessing Food Insecurity in Developing Countries", a collaborative effort of IFPRI, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, and the World Bank. Her research focuses on the causes of food insecurity and malnutrition in developing countries, natural disaster impacts, and the measurement of global food insecurity and hunger. She also serves as a visiting faculty member of the Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics at the University of Arizona. Lisa holds a Ph.D. in agricultural and applied economics from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. She is a citizen of the United States. |
