| Summary: | This project, which began in August 1999, seeks to ascertain the potential for postharvesting of fruits and vegetables in Vietnam by assessing the current state of food processing and by recommending policies and strategies to promote its development. It will identify product groups for in-depth study and constraints to their development; characterize household and community management of PHS/AGI activity; identify institutional mechanisms to lower the transaction costs rural households and small firms face; and empirically analyze alternative strategies for development. |
