IFPRI work in the Socialist Republic of Vietnam began in late 1995 with a large-scale project designed to monitor the transition of the rice marketing system from a centrally-planned to a market-based economy. Research on Vietnam has since moved into a variety of areas connected to agricultural performance, diversification and rural industrialization. Current efforts are focusing on designing an agricultural sector program for Vietnam, on examining prospects for post-harvest activity and agroindustrialization.
Abstracts of all the studies as well as the complete text of selected interim and final reports can be viewed or downloaded from the Research Findings section.
