Under this research theme, ISNAR works to broaden the knowledge base on new approaches to foster agricultural innovation. Specific emphasis is placed on how innovation processes are affected by the wider social and economic contexts of a society; how different innovative actors can be brought into partnerships, networks, and other forms of interaction; and how policies affecting innovation can reduce poverty and add value to food and nonfood agricultural commodities.
