E-MAIL Conference on Gender and Property Rights

After surveying interest among GENDER-CG members, we have decided to run an E-MAIL conference on Gender and Property Rights during June-November 1995. An E-MAIL conference operates like an E-MAIL network, but provides more intensive discussion of a focused topic for a fixed period. It will be shaped around a discussion of four to six papers on the themes of gender differences in rights to agricultural land, pastures and fodder, trees and forests, and water. Papers will be distributed in hard copy to all participants. After a period of general introduction, we will discuss each paper for two weeks, then move on to the next. We may also be able to include participants without E-MAIL access via a fax link. Proceedings of the conference will include the papers, the discussion, and case studies submitted by participants.

The conference will be run in parallel with GENDER-CG. That is, not all members of GENDER-CG would need to participate, and anyone who wishes to participate in the conference could do so without having to subscribe to GENDER-CG. To subscribe, send a message to LISTSERV@cgiar.org: On the first line of the message, type SUBSCRIBE GENDER-PROP. You should then receive a welcoming message. Alternatively, fill out the form below and send it to Ruth Meinzen-Dick at IFPRI (E-MAIL: R. MEINZEN-DICK@cgiar.org, fax 202-467-4439).
