Online Discussion About Gender and Development Policy

Catherine Moller raised the question of how to address the tension in gender development planning between general policy and the need to replicate development programs across countries on the one hand and cultural specificity and the need to take the heterogeneity of women’s lives into account on the other hand. She and her colleague’s explored this question as graduate students in Professor Sara Curran's Gender and Development class at Princeton University. As part of this class and the Woodrow Wilson School’s Gender and Development Policy Network, the students conducted a Gender Planning and Evaluation online discussion. The discussion took place earlier this year on the Gender Development Policy Network website at www.wws.princeton.edu:80/~gender/home.html.
